Sonic Objects #10 – Brunhild Ferrari & Alessandro Bosetti vs. Luc Ferrari

Sonic Objects ist ein Veranstaltungsformat, in welchem die komponierte neue (elektroakustische) Musik auf die zumeist frei gespielte oder improvisierte, vorwiegend aus dem popmusikalischen Kontext stammende Geräusch-Musik trifft. Die Reihe geht dabei vom Abenteuer des Hörens aus, das keine akademische Vorbildung braucht. In der zehnten Folge geht es um den Dialog mit der Musik des französischen Komponisten Luc Ferrari.

Ferrari war in den 1950er Jahren Mitglied der Groupe de recherches musicales um Pierre Schaeffer und komponierte im Sinne der musique concrète. Er distanzierte sich von der strengen Vorgabe nach der die aufgenommenen Klänge vollständig von ihrem ursprünglichen Kontext gelöst werden sollten. Mit dem Werk Hétérozygote von 1963/64 entwickelte er sein Konzept der musique anecdotique. Brunhild Meyer-Ferrari wirkte bei zahlreichen Arbeiten ihres Mannes Luc Ferrari mit und realisierte eigene Kompositionen und Hörstücke. Der Klangkünstler Alessandro Bosetti erforscht in seinen Arbeiten den schmalen Grat zwischen Sprache und Musik. Seine Performances bewegen sich im Bereich der elektroakustischen Komposition, die er mit repetitiven Sprachloops koppelt. In einer Einführung durch den Musikwissenschaftler Leopoldo Siano vom Musikwissenschaftlichen Institut der Universität zu Köln wird die Brücke zu Luc Ferraris‘ Musik geschlagen.

Alessandro Bosetti (I)

Alessandro Bosetti is a sound artist, composer and performer currently based in Berlin.  His main focus is in the fringe area between spoken language and music. He created a series of highly compelling sound works where relational aesthetics meets innovative composition. Since 2000 he has been a key Ars Acustica figure, and created a vast body of work of hybrid, award winning, text-sound and radio compositions for the main Radio and Electro Acoustic Music studios in Europe. Among them, pieces like Il Fiore della Bocca (Rossbin/DLR 2005), a work on the vocality of the mentally and physically impaired and African Feedback, a collaborative scrutiny on experimental music in West Africa (Errant Bodies press, 2004). Field research and interviews often build the basis for his abstract compositions along with electro-acoustic and acoustic collages, relational strategies, trained and untrained instrumental practices, vocal explorations and digital manipulations.
Alessandro Bosetti is an emotional performer that has consistently toured in Europe, Asia and the United States. He’s been presenting solo sets for voice and electronics blurring the line between categories such as electro acoustic composition, text-sound pieces, and performance. Most recently he’s been involved in exploring repetitive speech-loop forms as a solo artist and with his ensemble Trophies with fretless guitarist Kenta Nagai and drummers Tony Buck and Ches Smith. Trophies, with two upcoming cd releases and a busy touring schedule has imposed itself as one of the most innovative and genre defying combos of the last years.
Blow Up magazine has called Bosetti “One of the most anomalous and fascinating figures in the contemporary scene“, Dusted Magazine “A rewarding, unique and surprisingly responsive encounter.” For The Wire “Bosetti’s work has undjudgemental embrace, complex transvaluations and challenges our liberalism.“ Bosetti’s most recent Cd Zwolfzüngen has been listed as one of The Wire’s best 15  outer limits cd’s of 2010.

Brunhild Meyer-Ferrari (F)

Brunhild Meyer-Ferrari, ganz offensichtlich deutscher Abstammung, in Frankfurt am Main geboren, teilt ihr Leben seit 1959 mit Luc Ferrari in Paris.
Zunächst, nach Entstehung der Groupe de Recherche Image, Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Beziehung zwischen Ton und Bild in Pierre Schaeffers Service de la Recherche, bis sie 1967 Luc Ferrari auf Einladung des DAAD für ein Jahr Aufenthalt nach Berlin folgt. Neben ihrer Tätigkeit  als Dolmetscherin und Übersetzerin und als häufig Mitwirkende an Luc Ferraris Arbeiten, realisiert sie eigene Kompositionen sowie Hörspiele, die von France Culture, dem WDR und SWR, dem Bayrischen Rundfunk und Deutschlandradio Berlin gesendet werden.

Seit Luc Ferraris Tod 2005 befasst sie sich neben Komposition mit dem von ihr initiierten Verein PRESQUE RIEN um Luc Ferrari sowie mit der Datensicherung Ferraris Manuskript- und Bandarchive.
